Thomas Carter

Invented the Carterfone, a coupler for radio communications that attached to the public switched network.  Carter fought an interconnection battle that led to the landmark Carterfone decision which allowed other devices to be connected directly to the AT&T network, as long as there was no harm to the network.  Ran radio business until his death in 1991.  Inducted posthumously to the Hall of Fame in 2001.
