Georgios is pursuing Computer Science Ph.D. in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Florida Atlantic University and a research assistant at the FAU Center for Connected Autonomy and Artificial Intelligence. Georgios received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from Winthrop University, SC, U.S.A. in 2021 where he studied with a full athletic scholarship. He was selected by the faculty for his excellence, service, and leadership as he was recognized as the single best Computer Science graduate. In May 2023, he received his M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence from FAU with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Georgios also received the FAU Academic Excellence Award and the FAU Research Contribution Award for his stellar academic performance and research contributions, respectively.
Goals and Aspirations: Georgios’ research interests are in the areas of signal processing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, with an emphasis on data series analysis (collected across time or space) in non-stationary environments with applications to autonomous system operations. He is a Graduate Student Member of the IEEE Signal Processing and Young Professionals Societies and has served as a reviewer for the 2023 IEEE Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems, and Computers.
My research focuses on the development of algorithms for single-sample space and time series inference with applications that span from wireless communications to autonomous systems operations. My first contact with research was early in my undergraduate years where I supported research efforts at different academic institutions including North Carolina State University and Cornell University. Since then, research has been an integral part of my academic journey. In the future, I envision myself as a well-respected researcher/professor pursuing with fervor new knowledge, managing my own research, and supporting technology transfer in the industry.
