Neera Singh was the co-founder of LCC International (LCCI) when the cellular industry was in its infancy and the spectrum that would make cellular possible was just being released by the FCC. LCCI established itself as the leading wireless engineering firm, whose independence from communications equipment manufacturers allowed it to be objective and efficient. Neera developed the underlying algorithms and authored LCCI software. She was also in charge of software development as the company expanded.
As the industry grew, LCCI was responsible for the design of initial wireless networks across the globe including in the USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, Spain, India, Mexico and a number of other countries. Neera’s contributions span engineering, technology, and operations and finance/investments in the wireless industry. She not only served in leadership, oversight and management roles, but additionally created software and algorithms used throughout the industry.
Telcom Ventures, LLC, was co-founded in 1993 by Neera and her husband Dr. Raj Singh. It is a private investment firm based in Miami, Florida that specializes in telecommunications and related information technologies. Telcom Ventures and its affiliates have launched numerous wireless and telecommunication systems throughout the world.
Neera attended the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, where she received her Bachelors of Chemical Engineering degree. Neera was later awarded IIT’s distinguished alumnus award. She received her Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Kansas State University and was later a recipient of Kansas State University’s Seaton Society award.
A dedicated volunteer and philanthropist, Neera directs the affairs of the Singh Family Office, and serves as a Director of the Raj & Neera Singh Charitable Foundation, Inc. She was inducted into the Wireless Hall of Fame in 2022.
