Nicole Ela is a second year law student at the University of Colorado where she is focusing on telecommunications law. Ms. Ela has degrees in aerospace engineering and anthropology. Her first experience with wireless technology was as an undergraduate when she got her amateur radio license so she could run communications with a small, student-built satellite.
Goals and Aspirations: While working as an engineer, Ms. Ela became passionate about increasing the accessibility of technology and information for underserved communities. Currently, she is pursuing her interests by engaging in spectrum policy research at the Silicon Flatirons Center.
I plan to move my career towards policy questions relating to wireless advancements. Wireless capabilities revolutionized information transfer and future regulations on issues like spectrum sharing will shape the industry. I hope to work on these topics through government or public interest employment.
