On December 4, 2013 the Wireless History Foundation hosted a reception for the cellular community of the Washington, DC and Baltimore areas. Held at the Willard Hotel, the reception was attended by approximately 100 business men and women from the wireless industry, including Wireless Hall of Fame members Brian Fontes, Morgan O’Brien, Wayne Schelle, and Dick Wiley.
Also in attendance was recent inductee to the Hall of Fame from 2013, Senator Mark Warner, who was unable to attend the Wireless Hall of Fame dinner in San Jose this past October due to the government shutdown. Senator Warner was presented his award by business colleague and Wireless Hall of Fame member Morgan O’Brien in a short ceremony. The Senator thanked the Wireless History Foundation and acknowledged many in attendance who helped him and worked with him while in the private sector. Photos of the reception can be found on the photos page on the Wireless History Foundation website.
Area law firms that attended and helped sponsor the reception are: Dorsey & Whitney, Lukas Nace Gutierrez & Sachs, Venable LLP, Wiley Rein LLP, and Wilkinson Barker Knauer. The Wireless History Foundation hopes to continue regional receptions in other cities as we celebrate milestones in cellular communications and acknowledge success and leadership in the wireless industry around the country.
